Alpine skiing in Oberhof
Alpine skiing in the Thuringian Forest: welcome to the winter wonderland!
More than 20 skiing areas, around 30 ski lifts and lots of winter sports fun: Thuringia is a paradise for skiers. Alpine skiing is particularly important here. No wonder, because from artificial snow-making systems to spectacular fun parks and (children’s) ski schools, everything is available to delight the skier’s heart. Moreover, it is only a stone’s throw from your hotel in Oberhof to the top ski areas. So nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable holiday in the Oberhof holiday region!
With the four-seater chairs of the Fallbach lift you can then reach your destination comfortably in just six minutes. There are hardly any waiting times, as the lift can transport up to 1950 winter sports fans per hour. Tip: Make sure you take a look at the toboggan and bobsleigh run below you on the way! With a bit of luck, you will be able to look directly into the training area. After all, the Tambacher Straße mountain station is located in the direct vicinity of Oberhof’s top sports facilities!
Powder snow and a magnificent panorama: the Snowpark Oberhof
The snowpark Oberhof is a fantastic family ski area with many great advantages. Thanks to the optimal altitude (average 820 metres), the winter temperatures here are ideal for winter sports. And in case “Frau Holle” should ever hold back, a state-of-the-art snow-making system ensures a snow-white fairytale landscape. You can reach the valley station of the ski lift from your hotel in Oberhof in a few minutes. Just follow the “Alte Ohrdrufer Straße” and keep in the direction of the “Obere Schweizerhütte”. Of course, there are plenty of parking spaces available at the valley station!
You can reach another lift between Oberhof and Rondell via Zellaer Straße. It is called “Alte Golfwiese” and is equipped with so-called circulating bow lifts. Of course there are also parking facilities here. At the “Alte Golfwiese” you can also go tobogganing or enjoy the popular trend sport snowtubing.
